The five-piece Durstut re-formed in Solon, a suburb of Bandung, Indonesia in Early january 2007, The name Durstut itself comes from the local Marble term, a general rule in a marble playing, Dur and Stut. Initially, the three founding members were in a lo-fi noise folk/rock band, Neowax. In the mid of December 2006 Neowax signed a contract to perform in the 8soulvation pra event, till sudden news come, tell their lead vocal/guitar unavailable to join in. On the verge of canceling the contract, they instead decided to look for somebody as a substitute. Hyperactive Singer Johnny Destroy from Ajotg was discovered by the Bassist, Falcon fang in a Jamaican pub while he was singing along to a Bob Marley’s “yama yama”. Having found someone with a different stage presence, a new problem emerged; Johnny Destroy harsh stage-act daunted to change the original image/attitude of Neowax, so then someone should say “why don’t we just form another band, a different one”. This decision was forcing them to recruit another member, and Andy London from Ajotg finally decided to be the guitarist.

After that day, they started to write their first songs together, repackage the abandoned durstut songs, and else. Influenced primarily by the likes of Sonic Youth, Flaming Lips, Pavement, the unicorns and Noise rock as well as their native scene, Durstut musically sounds like Grunge,
Noise, Industrial, and Progressive rock in Blender. Well that’s all reader, let’s just wait and see, how noise this 5 lads gonna blown the speakers and swallows the crowds in 17th February 2007.
